Seattle/Southwest WA AHEC Events
Presented by Don Downing, Pharmacist and Clinical Professor Emeritus, UW School of Pharmacy
Explore sexual and reproductive health from the patient/consumer perspective and from a public health perspective. Professor Downing and his colleagues developed Plan B™ and the new OTC contraceptive, OPill™ and have explored non-clinic-based screening and treatment of chlamydia. In December 2024, they successfully demonstrated the utilization of pharmacists as medication abortion providers using telehealth services. Let’s talk about how and why communities voted with their feet in their acceptance of less medicalized patient care services.
